Batchelor, Martine and Kerry Brown, eds. London: Cassell Publishers Limited, 1992. 114 pp. This collection follows in line with Dharma Gaia. It is one of a series of five books on world religions and ecology.

 

Hua-yen Buddhism: The Jewel Net of Indra

Cook, Francis H. State Park: Pennsylvania State University Press, 1977. 164 pp. This book is must reading to comprehend the Mahayana doctrinal basis for Buddhism as Ecology. Dr. Cook probably was the first to elucidate Buddhism as "cosmic ecology."

 

Dharma Rain: Sources of Buddhist Environmentalism

Kaza, Stephanie and Kenneth Kraft . Boston, MA: Shambala Publications, Inc., 2000. 491 pp. Another collection of essays by representatives of various Buddhist traditions. More distinctly Buddhist in nature than Dharma Gaia.

 

World as Lover, World as Self

Macy, Joanna . Berkeley, CA: Parallax Press, 1991. 251 pp. The author "teaches us to consider our world and its creatures as nothing less than an extension of ourselves." Joanna Macy is one of the leading exponents of the Buddhist ecological perspective.
